Joyce DiPastena headshotJoyce DiPastena is an author of mystery, adventure and “sweet” romance in the middle ages. Her newest release Loving Lucianna is the first in a series of Autumn Romances. Two of her medieval romance novels made her a two-time Whitney Award finalist: Loyalty’s Web & Illuminations of the Heart. Her third romance, Dangerous Favor  was released in January 2012. Her newest book release is non-fiction: Name Your Medieval Character: Medieval Christian Names (12th-13th Centuries)

Her grandmother died of colon cancer, and Joyce’s mother died from complications from surgery for the same disease.

Joyce DiPastena fell in love with the Middle Ages when she first read Thomas B. Costain’s THE CONQUERING FAMILY in high school. A graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree specializing in medieval history. She owns an extensive personal medieval  library (over 200 books) she uses for her research. She maintains a medieval research blog called Medieval Research with Joyce, where I share some of my research methods and sources.

She is a two-time Whitney award finalist,  winner of the RWA Heart of the West award, and 1st and 2nd place winner in the Best First Chapter in the Land Contest, sponsored by Romantic Times Magazine.
She has been a judge in multiple writing contests, including the Outreach Chapter of Romance Writers of America.
Joyce lives in Arizona with her two cats, Clio and Glinka Rimsky-Korsokov.
